Down by the Sallie Gardens By W B Yeats
Down By The Sallie Gardens was inspired by recollection of a ballad Yeats heard an old woman sing in Balisodare, by the banks of the Owenmore river where locals grew sallie rods for thatching. The 1837 map detail is of the Owenmore river flowing through Balisodare.

Working with Sligo based graphic designer Daragh Stuart we have set the poetry of W.B. Yeats against 1837 antiquarian maps of the County Sligo locations that inspired him to write some of his greatest poetry. The prints are wonderful gifts, a little piece of Sligo for visitors to take away and for family and friends overseas.
Giclee prints are a state-of-the-art rendering, merging professional grade digital print with archival pigment inks and fine-art watercolour papers. The paper used is an acid free unbuffered pulp which along with the pigmented inks will last over 75 years without fading, if not displayed in direct sunlight.
