Slainte | Solid Gold Ogham Inscribed Pendant | Martina Hamilton

About this piece

Sláinte is the Irish word that bestows good health upon another, and Ogham (pronounced O.M.) writing is the earliest known form of writing in Ireland.
Predating the Latin and Irish of ancient monastic manuscripts, Ogham was instead carved into standing stones. 360 of these standing stones survive in Ireland, dating from the centuries that saw the collapse of the Roman Empire and before arrival of Christianity to Ireland.
Martina has taken this timeless Gaelic wish for good health to be bestowed upon those we love and hold dear, and etches it in Ogham into a beautiful solid gold pendant. The edges of the gold bar are given fluidity and softness with gently sculpted sides

Hallmarked 9 carat yellow gold 3cm (H) X 0.5cm (W) 46cm 9 carat gold 2 bell chain.
